The theme that I mainly use for my site has to be taken down for a while, while I upgrade it and put my graphics back on it. The theme was based on an older version of Vistered Little, which has a Security issue. I’m going to put up this nice looking theme, which I’ve already started customizing. I will be swiching between this and my customized Tarski theme, which I use here a lot.

If you notice any bugs please let me know so I can fix them ASAP.

Update: I looked into this issue, and it is not in my version of the theme.

On my little Business site, I decided to switch WordPress 2.0.5 to WordPress MU 1.0. This means that I can now host other peoples blogs on my site! Like a lot of WordPress users, I have a lot of plugins installed. I was looking at my disk space usgage in my hosting admin panel. I noticed that quite a lot of space was used since the last time I checked which was about two or three months ago. I then noticed that I had loads of Plugins installed. I have to clean some of them up, and upgrade a lot of them, and just get rid of some of them.

I got rid of quite a few of them, I had almost 53 plugins!!! A lot were not being used. Right now I have 32 now, after the clean up. 18 Plugins are currently active, and the others I can’t get rid of, because I’ve customized a few, and most of them are used with the different Themes I have on my site.

The current active plugins are needed to display this site properly, and others like Akismet is to control Spam commenting.

I need to upgrade a few to the latest versions. I have 6 other themes installed, and some of the plugins are used to contol those other themes. I can’t get rid of the themes either, because they are all customized themes.

I need to clean up and delete some old uploads too, and make some more space on my web server.

That’s it! Lots of ‘Cleaning’ to do!

WordPress 2.1 is now out in the world! This is the release I, and many others have been waiting for. Upgrading is highly recommended, as there are over 550 bug fixes, and many cool new features. Frontpage selection also makes WordPress a good content management system. The next release will be on April 23, 2007.

  WordPress 2.0.6 did not last very long- at all! WP has already released version 2.0.7 which is probably going to be the last of WP 2.0. WordPress recommends that you upgrade your WordPress installation. There’s been a few bugs, and the Highly recommend you upgrade!! If you have not bothered to upgrade your WP, now is a good time to do it.
