That’s all the pictures I have for now. Next I will start looking at my iPod, and take some pictures of it.

I have had my MacBook for exactly two weeks now and I love it. It’s the best computer I have ever used. It does everything I want it to do, it meets all of my needs, and it the perfect computer for me.

I switched from PC to Mac two weeks now, and I’m never going back to a PC! If I need windows, which I might in the future, I can install it on my Mac. I can run windows and Mac OS on my computer, so a Mac is all that I will ever need.

First Day of the 2007-2008 School Year!

Posted on September 4th, 2007 by Shane.
Life, Random, School.

Today just flew by! We did not do any work at all today. It was just an intro to the classes and the teachers talked a bit about themselves, and what we would be doing in each class through out the year. I am really looking forward to this year. The classes will be a lot easier this year, because they have been shortened a lot compared to last year’s class times. This will also make the day go b quicker.

I have just about all of the supplies I need, but I need to bring in a few things here and there. Starting tomorrow, we are going to start having the first assemblies for the year. They are to introduce all new students to the school, and talk about things the school does, and what they expect and other stuff. I’m not sure when we will really start getting into the work, right now the teachers are just handing out a whole lot of forms, newsletters, and other assorted papers and guidelines.

Everything seems good so far, and it was a very good first day.

All Ready for Back to School!

Posted on September 3rd, 2007 by Shane.
Big Events, Life, Mac, School.

We finally got all of our back to school shopping all done yesterday. Everything is done and ready for back to school. I packed up and I’m ready for tomorrow morning.

I Packed:

  • 6 Binders
  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Paper
  • Small Storage Boxes for my Locker
  • Calculator
  • Lock
  • Artist’s Pencils and Coloured Pencils for Art Class
  • Rulers
  • A few blank Notebooks
  • Locker Shelves
  • Locker Organizers
  • Tape
  • Memory Stick (For transfering files from school to home- because I don’t really want to bring my laptop to School)
  • Sticky Notes
  • That’s about all I packed for now. When I go to school, they should tell me within the first few weeks if you are missing something, or need something extra.

I also have my New 2.16 GHz MacBook, which will make schoolwork and homework a LOT easier. My PC is good, but it is a few years old, and it is getting quite slow. I’m glad I have my Mac. I have not installed all of the software I want on my Mac Yet, but I do have Office for Mac, which is a Must Have for school.

Along with my Mac I got a new HP Photosmart Printer + Copier + Scanner, which will be good for school to, for printing out presentations and posters. I have an HP Lazer Jet that I got in February, Which is great for printing out Text and reports, but not pictures, and it’s just a black and white printer.

For now, I seem all set for tomorrow!

    Second Day with my MacBook

Posted on September 1st, 2007 by Shane.
    Design, Life, Mac.

I have had my Shiny new MacBook for two days now, and I love it. I had orginally said it was the base model, but I actually have an upgraded model now, and I’m glad I do. It’s the 2.16 GHz in White. I really like the computer, and it has a very attractive design.

I am still getting used to the Mac, and I’m still installing software on it. Unfortunately, I can’t install some of the web design software I use becuase it is not compatible with Macs, and it is too old. Sometime, I’m going to get a Mac Version of the Adobe Dreamweaver software, along with Photoshop for mac and some other software.

For now, I will use my PC to do design work. My Mac will be used for design work when I get the right software for it. I do have a lot more to install, I currently have Office 2004 Student Edition installed on my Mac.

My Mac will be perfect for ALL School Work, Homework and presentations. It’s soooo much faster compared to my PC, which I really like.

I am so happy I got the Mac. I still have some learning to do, but It’s excellent so far!

I want to post some reviews on the Mac within the next few weeks. It’s back to school on Tuesday, and I will probably be quite busy. I will actually be looking forward to homework and presentations, because I’ll do it on my New Mac. I also got a new HP colour printer to go with my new system. I have a newer HP lazer printer aswell. I am all ready for back to school!

    That’s about all for tonight!

Tomorrow, we are going to continue with the Back to school Shopping, so I will have EVERYTHING for Tuesday.

I am using my Mac to write this, too, I like the Safari Browser a lot too.

One thing that I already found with the Mac is that it does get really hot. I found that SMC Fan Control made a huge difference. The temperature dropped a lot after I increased the fan speed from 1,800 rpms to 6,200 rpms. I only put it to the max speed if it gets really hot though, just to save battery power, if I don’t have it plugged in.

    That’s about all for tonight!
