WordPress Plugin Cleanup
Like a lot of WordPress users, I have a lot of plugins installed. I was looking at my disk space usgage in my hosting admin panel. I noticed that quite a lot of space was used since the last time I checked which was about two or three months ago. I then noticed that I had loads of Plugins installed. I have to clean some of them up, and upgrade a lot of them, and just get rid of some of them.
I got rid of quite a few of them, I had almost 53 plugins!!! A lot were not being used. Right now I have 32 now, after the clean up. 18 Plugins are currently active, and the others I can’t get rid of, because I’ve customized a few, and most of them are used with the different Themes I have on my site.
The current active plugins are needed to display this site properly, and others like Akismet is to control Spam commenting.
I need to upgrade a few to the latest versions. I have 6 other themes installed, and some of the plugins are used to contol those other themes. I can’t get rid of the themes either, because they are all customized themes.
I need to clean up and delete some old uploads too, and make some more space on my web server.
That’s it! Lots of ‘Cleaning’ to do!
